8th ANNUAL SUMMER SCOOP & REUNION OF OLD DOGS: THE OLD DOG PARTY OF THE YEAR
August 9 from 3 - 7 PM
Join us at the Brookside Reservation within the Cleveland Metroparks for an afternoon of fun and games for old dogs and the people who love them. Bring your friendly older dog and all your friends and neighbors and don't miss the fun. The activities of the day will feature the Old Dog Olympics, photo opportunities, games, and contests. Bobbi, a senior search and rescue dog, will offer a tracking demonstration. Come on out and see senior dogs in action. Plenty of refreshments will be on hand, including pizza, chips, beverages, and desserts. And, of course, treats for our four-legged friends.
From 480, exit at Ridge Road and travel north to John Hayes Blvd. Turn right on John Hayes (there will be a large Metroparks sign), and go down the hill to the covered pavilion on your right. Free admission and plenty of free parking.
ADOPTION SUNDAY
August 31 from 2-4 PM
Meet our senior dog friends looking for homes at Adoption Sundays 2008, the last Sunday of each month except for December. Catch our featured adoptable dog on the WKYC Sunday morning news between 9:30 and 10 AM. At the Adoption & Education Center.
SENIOR THERAPY DOG TESTING. DELTA SOCIETY
PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DATE: September 6, call for appointment
Is your senior dog (7+ years; giant breeds a bit younger) a laid back, friendly fellow. Does he enjoy people and love to be stroked? Is she steady and reliable and reasonably well-trained? If so, consider testing your dog to be a senior therapy dog. A Delta Society evaluator will be at our Adoption & Education Center on September 6 for testing by appointment only. Contact the Sanctuary for more information or to schedule an appointment.
OLD DOGS & CHILDREN: THE READING CIRCLE
An afternoon of reading and fun for children of all ages. Contact the Sanctuary to express your interest. The planning committee is forming now. To be involved in the planning of this program, please contact the Sanctuary.
